Trump Protest
Hundreds of “Jewish Resistance” movement protesters marched Wednesday night from Freedom Plaza to Trump International Hotel in Washington DC to demand the cancellation of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organization Hanukkah Party at Trump Hotel. See full story: The protesters say that they oppose “the American Jewish Establishment's cowardly normalization of Trump, Stephen Bannon, their anti-Semitic movement, and 50 years of occupation.” The group, which calls themselves “IfNotNow” is a movement of young Jews “organizing to end our community's support for the Occupation and demand freedom and dignity for all Israelis and Palestinians.” Protesters were met upon arrival with a smaller counter-protest led by a group calling themselves “Jews Choose Trump.” They claim that there is no evidence Donald Trump is anti-semitic, and have no objections to the Hanukkah Party at Trump Hotel. A line of police officers divided the two organizations, who chanted separately and rarely engaged with one another. Please contact Ford Fischer at or call (573) 575-NEWS to license video.
